ISA — Memorable Times
Hi there! I'm Gaby Kam, a junior studying Business Administration and currently serving as the Chair of Internal Operations at ISA.
When reflecting on my experience with ISA, my response has consistently been that joining this community was the best decision I made upon coming to USC. Who knew I would be part of this org 3 years later??!!
From my freshman year onward, ISA welcomed me into its close-knit family. Initially, my goal was to make friends with international students who, like me, understood the challenges of leaving home. Little did I expect to forge such strong bonds with my fellow ISA members (I literally lived with one last year, shoutout to Claire). Over the past three years, I've transitioned from being an intern to becoming a part of the E-Board, and this journey has been worth it. Though there have been some bumps along the way, I have gained so much more than any other organization I have been part of.
Throughout this time, I've not only developed professionally and socially but also honed various skills such as management and planning. Working with individuals from diverse backgrounds, majors, and nationalities has offered me a holistic perspective on how things work. Beyond professional growth, I've deepened connections within ISA. From coffee-meets-donuts, to study sessions with Yoonseo and yapping sessions with Lauren, ISA has provided me with opportunities to bond with my peers, making my club experience immensely enjoyable.
ISA has been an integral part of my college journey since I started 2 and a half years ago, and it continues to be a community I turn to. Whether it's going to cafes with my little or grabbing dinner with other ISA members, these seemingly small moments contribute to the core of my experiences here at USC. The sense of community within ISA has made me realize that choosing to be a part of USC and ISA was undeniably one of the best decisions I've ever made.
