An ISA Experience

Hi everyone!

I’m Nicole Yeh, a junior studying Business Administration and currently working as Co-Chair of Programming at ISA.

My hometown is Taipei, Taiwan, and I transferred to USC from Toronto in the spring of 2023. When I first started at USC, I didn’t know much about ISA until I saw a post about recruiting positions on Sharon’s Instagram. Little did I know that going after this opportunity would welcome me into one of the best communities on campus.

I must admit that when I first accepted my position, I felt a slight sense of doubt about whether I could carry the responsibility. This was my first real position at a university organization and at a new school I just joined. It felt like new territory to handle planning events at such large scales and to represent international students. However, with the support of our co-directors, I quickly recognized how natural it was for me to step into this role. As I think back to our fall event, Globefest, although it was a chaotic day, I am reminded of how fulfilling it felt to watch our weeks of planning come to life.

Transferring and adjusting to USC was undoubtedly a daunting experience, but I finally found a place at USC where I feel comfortable. From coffee-meets-donuts to our weekly meetings, I’m grateful to have made many lifelong friends here in ISA.
