ISA in a Nutshell
Hi! I’m Gaby Kam, a freshmen studying Business Administration and an intern at the very best organization: ISA. I am also known as the official meal swiper in ISA :D
When asked about my experience in ISA, my answer has always been the same, it was the best decision I made coming to USC. Since the very beginning of joining ISA, I have been warmly welcomed into this close-knit community. I initially joined to make more friends with international students who come from very different places but understand the feeling of leaving home. However, I was not expecting to form this close of a bond with my peers at ISA. As an intern in professional organization, I was tasked to shadow the E-Boards and help organize events. I have been able to develop my planning and management skills through the planning of International Trivia Night as well as shadowing in the recruitment and operations side of ISA. I have also had the chance to work with people from different backgrounds, majors and nationalities, allowing me to gain a more holistic view of how things work. Apart from developing professionally, I have also been able to grow and form deeper connections with the rest of the members in ISA. Through coffee-meets-donuts and frequently swiping ISA members into the dining hall, I have had the opportunity to bond with my peers, making my club experience more enjoyable and I have formed many close friendships with them.
Since becoming part of the family, it has helped my transition of settling in a lot easier, and I have had the opportunity to do so many different activities alongside members in ISA. Halloween Horror Nights, karaoke, spontaneous trips to Santa Barbara or even just grabbing dinner with my peers have been my core memories at USC. The fond memories I have with ISA has made me realize that joining the club was the best decision I made since arriving fall semester, and I wouldn’t have had it any other way.
